The municipality of Ponta Porã has been focusing on the interaction between the local population and its visitors, with the central objective of expanding tourism on the border in a balanced way, respecting the nature of the entire region. The leisure options range from shopping tourism with a dry border (Pedro Juan Caballero, which has a diversified trade), in addition to the Amambay Casino. It has ecological walks like streams, waterfalls, very green, surrounded by mountains on the Paraguayan side.

It also has a rich gastronomic variety and the language used by the residents is the Portuguese language, as Guarani, Spanish and Portuguese are not purely spoken. This population accepts the culture of other foreigners who trade (Koreans, Japanese, Lebanese, Arabs).

Architecture also exhibits its differences. On the Paraguayan side, you can also find wooden and thatch houses next to a large building with modern architecture. On the Brazilian side, people do not hide their pride in sharing the Paraguayan culture that mixes with the contaminating Gaucho culture.
