A main feature is that the streets in the historic center are narrow. Many of them maintain characteristics of the past, and are prohibited for vehicles and cyclists, where pedestrians can only travel. Quebec City offers unrivaled quality of life - vibrant artistic life, natural beauty and recreational opportunities, as well as the lowest crime rate among the largest urban centers in North America. After the manufacturing industry, the city's main source of income is tourism. Most tourists who visit the city come from other cities in the province of Québec, followed by tourists who come from other parts of Canada.

Quebec is a festive place, with a lively schedule of events in both the cold and hot seasons.
