In addition to the beaches, it is very common for residents to live in natural resorts with crystal clear and refreshing waters, which should be part of the itinerary for visitors who wish to be in contact with a simpler and more modest yet fun environment.

As one of the main attractions, we have the Mother Church of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, which has in its interior the image of Christ crucified with three meters high. It also adds the image of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, produced in plaster.

Initially Barcarena, it was first inhabited by the Aruãs Indians. Then around 1709, it was the Jesuits who settled there, founding the so-called 'Fazenda Gibiriê' (or Gebriê). The lands were donated to Portuguese priests by Francisco Rodrigo Pimenta. There, they built a church that still serves as a matrix for Catholics in the region.
