Guajará-mirim has one of the biggest offerings of tourist attractions in the state of Rondônia: Estrada de Ferro Madeira-Mamoré, Hotel Pakaas Palafitas Lodge, Natural Attractions such as rivers, preserved forest, resorts and parks, The border with the sister country Bolivia (besides cultural attractions, it is possible to buy imported products from the Bolivian side), boat trips, indigenous handicrafts (wariís), riverine and rubber tappers, The Guajará-Mirim Municipal Historical Museum is a museum located in the building of the former Guajará- Mirim, in Rondônia.

The Guajará-Mirim station was the final station of the Madeira-Mamoré Railway, located at kilometer 366 of the railroad. It was opened on April 30, 1912 and closed in 1972.
A 4-6-0 locomotive, No. 20, manufactured by Baldwin in 1909, is housed in the museum's courtyard, hitched to a passenger car and an old flatcar; and a locomotive 2-8-2, No. 17, manufactured in 1936 by Berliner Maschinenbau, hitched to a flatcar.
