Influenced by Colonel Amazonas, the first wave of German immigrants arrived from the Itajaí Valley in Santa Catarina, around 1881, who formed small nuclei of immigrants. Then, Italian immigrants settled in the city, who dedicated themselves to agriculture and navigation; the Poles, who dedicated themselves to agriculture and land cultivation; the Ukrainians, from Galicia and Bucovina, who worked as farmers and maintained their customs, preserved until today, and finally arrived the Syrian-Lebanese who dedicated themselves to trade and, which lasts until today.

In União da Vitória it is worth mentioning the natural environment, the rich landscape that can be seen from the Morro do Cristo where the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (2nd largest in Brazil) is located, and of the Morro da Cruz, which with its Grotto from Monge João Maria, reflects the scenic beauty of the cities: the Iguaçu River, the three bridges, the main churches and the river itself around houses, buildings and the Ary de Queirós Environmental Park.
