With enormous influence of Polish culture, it was founded by immigrants from that country. The name of the municipality originated as Cologne due to the large descendant population of Polish immigrants, recently arrived in 1861, later passing to Dom Feliciano.

Its main tourist attraction is the Casa da Cultura do Imigrante. The use of rustic materials is composed of wood and stone. As a highlight, the prominent roof and its main lines, have waters subdivided into two slopes, the water of the ridge of the slope being more accentuated than the water of the overhang. The Casa da Cultura also houses the Municipal Museum which contains objects from Polish immigration.
